Nakheel has awarded a marine works contract to expand beach frontage and upgrade the western shoreline of Island B at Dubai Islands. The programme is scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2027.

According to Nakheel, the scope includes 320 metres of new beachfront near Bay Villas and improvements across approximately 3km of the island’s western shoreline. The works form part of the wider build-out of Dubai Islands’ waterfront setting, where coastal infrastructure and public-facing amenity areas are important components of the residential environment.

The programme supports Bay Villas, a planned 636-home community of villas and townhouses on Island B. For prospective buyers, the announcement provides a defined delivery milestone for the beachfront and shoreline elements planned near the community. These features may add to the appeal of the location for residents seeking direct access to coastal spaces and a waterfront-oriented daily lifestyle.

For investors tracking emerging districts, the contract is a visible infrastructure step rather than a measure of property performance. It indicates progress on the public-realm and marine works intended to support the community’s setting, while the Q4 2027 date remains a scheduled target. Buyers should separately review the specific status, handover schedule and documentation for any individual home or development under consideration.

MEED also reported the award, citing the same 320-metre beach addition and roughly 3km shoreline upgrade. As construction progresses, delivery of the planned coastal works will be a relevant factor for purchasers assessing Dubai Islands’ evolving livability and waterfront proposition.
