Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), working with Dubai Holding Community Management, has started construction of two pedestrian bridges on Palm Jumeirah. The project is designed to strengthen pedestrian connections in a well-established waterfront district where homes, shops and visitor destinations sit alongside busy roads.

One bridge is planned near Shoreline and the other near Golden Mile. Together, they are intended to provide safer crossing points and more convenient walking routes between residential buildings, retail amenities and surrounding attractions. This is particularly relevant for apartment owners and prospective buyers who value practical access to daily services without relying on a car for every short journey.

The Shoreline bridge is scheduled for completion in June 2027, while the Golden Mile bridge is scheduled for completion in October 2027. Both structures are expected to include lifts, supporting accessibility for a wider range of residents and visitors.

RTA and Dubai Holding Community Management expect the two bridges to serve around 16,000 residents, with a combined pedestrian capacity of 2,700 people per hour. These figures remain projected until the bridges are operational.

For Palm Jumeirah buyers, the works underline ongoing investment in community infrastructure alongside the area’s residential, hospitality and retail assets. While the immediate benefit will depend on construction progress and the scheduled 2027 delivery dates, safer pedestrian movement can contribute to everyday livability in a mature, high-profile neighbourhood. For investors, the project is an area-specific enhancement that may support the long-term appeal of locations around Shoreline and Golden Mile.
